Hard Drives

Definition of Hard Drives as it relates to Electronics, Computers, Quantum Computers

Hard Drives are data storage devices primarily used in computers and electronics, including quantum computers. They offer non-volatile memory, meaning information remains even when power is removed. Hard drives consist of one or more platters coated with magnetic material, which store binary data via magnetization patterns. Read/write heads on a moving actuator access the data while the platters spin at high speed. Hard drives are known for their large storage capacity and affordability compared to other storage technologies.
