Memory refers to the electronic components in electronics, computers, edge computers, and desktop computers that store information. It is the capacity to encode, retain, and retrieve data, which is crucial for the functioning of these devices. Memory can be volatile or non-volatile, with the former losing data when power is turned off and the latter retaining it even in the absence of power. Examples of volatile memory include Random Access Memory (RAM), while non-volatile memory includes Read-Only Memory (ROM), flash memory, and hard disk drives. In essence, memory is the brainpower of electronic devices, enabling them to perform tasks by storing and processing data.
