Wireless Access Points (WAPs) are electronic devices designed for computers and other compatible network devices, which facilitate wireless connectivity in local area networks using radio signals to transmit data without requiring physical cables. These devices function as an interface between wired networks, such as Ethernet LANs, and wireless communication protocols like Wi-Fi, enabling seamless communication between various devices within the network. WAPs are equipped with built-in controllers that manage the flow of data packets between connected devices using specific protocols, ensuring efficient and secure communication. These controllers also enable access point management features such as load balancing, bandwidth control, and user authentication. As input devices, WAPs accept wireless signals from compatible devices, convert them into digital data, and transmit them through the network to other connected devices or servers. This enables users to access the internet, share files, and communicate with other networked devices wirelessly.
