Mencius
Mencius, also known as Meng Zi, was a Confucian scholar who lived during the Warring States period in China (372-289 BCE). He is considered one of the most important figures in the development of Confucian thought and is often referred to as the "Second Sage" of Confucianism. Mencius' teachings emphasized the inherent goodness of human nature, the importance of moral self-cultivation, and the role of government in promoting the welfare of its people. His ideas have had a significant influence on Chinese philosophy, ethics, and political thought. As such, it is fitting to include Mencius as a subcategory under "Confucian Scholars" within the broader context of "Religions" and "Confucianism."
