Cloud Security

Definition of Cloud Security as it relates to Technology, System Administration, Incident Response

Cloud Security refers to the practices and technologies used to protect cloud-based systems, applications, and data from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. It involves implementing security measures at all levels of cloud computing, including infrastructure, platforms, and software as a service (SaaS). This includes activities such as configuring secure access controls, encrypting data in transit and at rest, monitoring for suspicious activity, and responding to security incidents. As part of Incident Response, Cloud Security focuses on identifying, investigating, containing, and mitigating threats specifically related to cloud environments. It requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies and the unique risks they present, as well as the ability to work closely with system administrators, technology teams, and other incident response professionals to ensure a swift and effective response to security incidents.
