Inorganic Chemistry
Inorganic Chemistry is the study of chemical systems that do not contain carbon-hydrogen bonds, in contrast to organic chemistry. This branch of theoretical chemistry focuses on the properties and behavior of inorganic compounds, including their synthesis, structure, bonding, reactivity, and spectroscopy. Theoretical inorganic chemists use computational methods and models to understand and predict the behavior of these compounds, often at the quantum mechanical level. This subfield is closely related to physical chemistry, materials science, and solid-state physics, as it deals with the fundamental principles that govern the behavior of matter across a wide range of scales and contexts. Inorganic chemistry has important applications in areas such as catalysis, energy storage and conversion, environmental remediation, and medicine.
