Campgrounds

Definition of Campgrounds as it relates to Places, Travel Attractions

Campgrounds are outdoor recreational facilities where individuals or groups can set up tents, trailers, or recreational vehicles (RVs) for overnight stays in a natural setting. They typically offer amenities such as restrooms, showers, picnic areas, and fire pits. Campgrounds may be located in state or national parks, forests, or private land, and can vary greatly in terms of size, facilities, and activities offered. Some campgrounds are designed for tent camping only, while others cater to RVs with full hookups for electricity, water, and sewage. Many campgrounds also offer group campsites, cabins, or yurts for rent. In addition to providing a place to sleep, campgrounds often serve as bases for outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, fishing, swimming, and wildlife viewing.
