Slavic Paganism
Slavic Paganism refers to the ethnic religion practiced by the Slavic peoples prior to Christianization, characterized by their beliefs in various deities and spirits that permeated all aspects of daily life. This indigenous faith was deeply rooted in nature worship, ancestor veneration, and animistic principles. The pantheon consisted of a high god, Perun, ruler of the sky, thunder, and lightning, and other lesser gods associated with different natural elements, such as Svarog (fire), Veles (cattle and earth), and Mokosh (water). Slavic Paganism emphasized living in harmony with nature and one's ancestors, conducting rituals and ceremonies to honor the divine, and seeking wisdom through communion with the supernatural world.
