Fighting Styles

Definition of Fighting Styles as it relates to Sports, Olympic Games, Judo

Judo fighting styles encompass a variety of techniques and strategies used in competitive judo matches. These styles can be generally categorized into two main types: traditional Kodokan Judo and contemporary competitive Judo. Traditional Kodokan Judo emphasizes the principles of maximum efficiency and mutual welfare, with techniques that include throws, locks, and chokes. Competitive Judo, on the other hand, is more focused on winning matches through point-scoring techniques, such as throws and hold-downs. Both styles require a deep understanding of judo principles, technique, and strategy, and demand physical strength, agility, and mental toughness.
