Quantum Computing

Definition of Quantum Computing as it relates to Science, Nanotechnology, Quantum Physics

Quantum Computing is an advanced field of study concerning the design and development of computers based on quantum mechanics, rather than classical transistor technology. It leverages qubits, which can exist in multiple states simultaneously, to perform complex calculations much more efficiently than traditional binary bits. This subfield falls under Quantum Physics, a branch of science that deals with discrete, indivisible units of energy called quanta, and intersects with Nanotechnology, which manipulates matter on an atomic or molecular scale. By utilizing quantum phenomena such as superposition and entanglement, Quantum Computing offers unprecedented computational power to tackle previously intractable problems in cryptography, optimization, material science, and more.
