Plant Science
Plant science is the study of plants, including their structure, growth, reproduction, metabolism, and genetic makeup, as well as their interactions with the environment. It encompasses various disciplines such as genetics, physiology, ecology, and molecular biology. In this hierarchy, plant science falls under evolutionary biology within environmental science, which in turn is a subset of science. As such, it shares common ground with these broader categories by exploring how plants have evolved over time, their role in ecosystems, and the ways in which they adapt to changing environments. This field also addresses practical applications related to agriculture, forestry, and biofuels production, thus highlighting its relevance to environmental sustainability.
