Music Therapy
Music Therapy is a clinical intervention that utilizes music and its inherent properties to facilitate positive changes in cognitive, emotional, physical, social, and psychological functioning. It involves the deliberate use of music by accredited professionals to address specific therapeutic goals and objectives. Music therapists may employ various techniques such as improvisation, receptive music listening, songwriting, lyric analysis, and performance to promote healing, self-expression, communication, and personal growth in individuals with diverse needs. The therapy can be used for a wide range of populations including those with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, physical impairments, and chronic illnesses.
