Information Security, also known as InfoSec, is the practice of protecting information by mitigating information risks and ensuring availability, privacy, and integrity of data. It encompasses education and technical education in various areas such as cybersecurity, network security, application security, and physical security. Information Security professionals are responsible for implementing security policies, procedures, and controls to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction. They must stay updated on the latest threats and vulnerabilities and employ best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets. The field requires a strong understanding of security principles, technologies, and tools, as well as the ability to analyze and mitigate risks in complex systems and environments.
