Civics Education
Civics Education refers to the study of the theoretical, political, and practical aspects of citizenship, as well as the roles and responsibilities that come with being an active participant in a democratic society. It encompasses knowledge about the structure, functions, and history of government at various levels (local, state, national), as well as an understanding of the fundamental principles and values upon which our democracy is based. Civics Education also emphasizes the importance of engaging in the political process and encourages students to become informed and involved members of their communities. This category includes topics such as voting rights, civil liberties, civic participation, media literacy, and the relationship between citizens and government. By fostering an understanding of these concepts, Civics Education aims to empower individuals to participate effectively in a diverse and interconnected world, and contribute positively to their communities and society at large.
