Definition of Disability Services as it relates to Education, Kindergarten Education, Student Services

Disability Services in the context of education refers to specialized support systems designed to ensure equal access and opportunities for students with disabilities. These services encompass a range of accommodations, modifications, and auxiliary aids that enable students to participate actively in their educational journey, from kindergarten through higher education. The goal is to create an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive, regardless of their physical, sensory, cognitive, or psychological challenges. Disability Services often include but are not limited to assistive technology, sign language interpreters, note-taking services, extra time for tests, and individualized education plans (IEPs).
