Definition of Higher Education as it relates to Education, Home Economics Education, Preschool Education

Higher Education refers to the tier of formal education following completion of secondary schooling, typically provided by universities and colleges. It encompasses learning experiences designed to cultivate advanced knowledge, critical thinking abilities, research skills and professional expertise. Higher education programs can range from undergraduate to post-doctoral levels, covering a wide array of disciplines such as humanities, sciences, social sciences, engineering, medicine, law, business, arts and more. The primary aim is to foster intellectual growth, prepare students for specialized careers, and contribute to societal development through research and innovation. Home Economics Education and Preschool Education can be considered subsets of Higher Education, with the former focusing on teaching practical skills necessary for independent living and family management while the latter concentrates on early childhood development and education.
