Social Studies Education encompasses the interdisciplinary study of society and human behavior, including history, geography, government, civics, economics, sociology, and anthropology. It aims to develop students' understanding of their own cultural heritage and the diversity of cultures around the world, as well as their critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Through the exploration of various perspectives and the examination of primary and secondary sources, Social Studies Education encourages active engagement in democratic processes and prepares students to become informed and responsible citizens.
