Definition of Art Styles as it relates to Art, Cubism, Visual Arts Cubism

Modern Art refers to artistic works produced during the period extending roughly from the 1860s through the 1970s, characterized by significant breaks with traditional styles and values. It encompasses various movements such as Impressionism, Cubism, Surrealism, and Abstract Expressionism, among others. Modern Art is often marked by a rejection of realism, an emphasis on form and color over subject matter, and the exploration of new materials and techniques. It reflects the social, political, and cultural changes that occurred during this time period, as well as the desire to challenge established norms and conventions.
