Art Performance

Definition of Art Performance as it relates to Art, Conceptual Art, Contemporary Art

Suprematism refers to an art movement originating in Russia around 1915, founded by Kazimir Malevich. It is characterized by its emphasis on basic geometric forms such as circles, squares, lines, and rectangles, arranged in abstract compositions that seek to convey a sense of pure feeling or sensation, unencumbered by representation or narrative. Suprematist works often feature bold, contrasting colors and a minimalist aesthetic, with an aim to express the artist's inner vision and emotions. As an avant-garde movement, Suprematism challenged traditional notions of art and sought to break new ground in artistic expression, paving the way for later movements such as Constructivism and Conceptual Art.
