Rococo Art

Definition of Rococo Art as it relates to Art, Art History, Classical Art

Postmodern Art refers to an artistic movement that emerged in the mid-to-late 20th century, characterized by a rejection of the modernist notion that there is a single, objective truth or style. Instead, postmodern art embraces subjectivity, multiplicity, and contradiction, often incorporating elements from popular culture and mass media to challenge traditional notions of high and low art. This movement is rooted in the belief that all knowledge and experience are socially constructed, and therefore, open to interpretation and critique. As such, postmodern art encourages viewers to question their assumptions about the world around them and consider alternative perspectives. The movement encompasses a wide range of mediums and styles, including painting, sculpture, installation, performance, and new media art.
