Leopards

Definition of Leopards as it relates to Animals, Zoo Animals, Carnivores

Leopards are majestic and powerful felines known for their striking spotted coats, which serve as excellent camouflage in their diverse habitats across Africa and Asia. They are highly adaptable animals, capable of thriving in various environments, from dense forests to arid grasslands. Leopards are also incredibly agile, able to climb trees with ease to escape predators or stash their prey out of reach. As carnivores, they primarily feed on medium-sized mammals, such as antelopes and monkeys, but will adapt their diet to available resources. Their elusive nature and nocturnal behavior make them a fascinating subject for zoo exhibits, where visitors can observe these magnificent creatures up close while learning about their essential role in the ecosystem.
