Venomous Reptiles
Venomous reptiles are a subset of the larger animal kingdom, specifically within the class Reptilia. These creatures possess specialized glands that produce venom, a toxic secretion used primarily for subduing prey. Venomous reptiles include various species of snakes, such as vipers, cobras, and rattlesnakes, as well as a few species of lizards like the Gila monster and Mexican beaded lizard. They are characterized by their ability to inject venom through hollow fangs or teeth, although some deliver it via grooved teeth or through a chewing motion. The effects of their venom can range from localized pain, swelling, and tissue damage to more severe symptoms like paralysis, internal bleeding, and even death. Venomous reptiles are fascinating yet dangerous animals that require careful handling and study due to the risks they pose to humans and other animals.
