Zoraptera
Zoraptera, an order of small, wingless insects commonly known as angel insects, are characterized by their elongated bodies and social behavior. They reside in humid, decaying wood where they feed on fungi, small arthropods, and other decomposing organic matter. Despite their close proximity to termites and ants, Zoraptera species exhibit a more solitary lifestyle, with colonies typically consisting of only several individuals. Their social structure is unique, as they display cooperative behavior in caring for their young and sharing food resources within the colony. These insects have a worldwide distribution but are rarely encountered due to their cryptic nature and small size.
