Birds

Definition of Birds as it relates to Animals, Farm Animals, Mice

Birds are a diverse group of warm-blooded vertebrates constituting the class Aves, characterized by feathers, toothless beaked jaws, the laying of hard-shelled eggs, a high metabolic rate, a four-chambered heart, and a strong yet lightweight skeleton. They inhabit a wide range of environments across the globe, from dense forests to open grasslands, and from arctic tundra to tropical rainforests. Birds play crucial ecological roles, such as pollination, seed dispersal, and pest control. They are also known for their remarkable ability to fly, although not all species possess this capability. The study of birds is called ornithology.
