Harbor Seals
Harbor seals, also known as common seals, are marine mammals belonging to the family Phocidae. They are characterized by their sleek bodies, short flippers, and distinctive V-shaped nostrils. Harbor seals are found along the coastlines of the Northern Hemisphere, where they inhabit both saltwater and freshwater environments. These seals are known for their playful behavior and can often be seen basking on rocky shores or swimming in coastal waters. Harbor seals primarily feed on fish, squid, and crustaceans, using their sharp teeth to catch and consume their prey. These seals play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems and are protected under various conservation laws to ensure their survival.
