Godparent
A godparent is a person who is chosen by the parents of a child to take an interest in the child's upbringing and personal development, and to offer mentorship, support, and guidance throughout the child's life. Godparents are often chosen for their moral character, values, and belief system, and may play a significant role in the child's religious education and spiritual growth. In some religious traditions, such as Christianity, godparents may also have a formal role in the child's baptism and confirmation ceremonies.
