Cellular Division
Cellular division refers to the process by which a single cell divides to create two daughter cells. This essential biological mechanism allows for growth, repair, and reproduction in organisms. There are two main types of cellular division: mitosis, which produces identical daughter cells with the same number of chromosomes as the parent cell, and meiosis, which produces gametes with half the number of chromosomes for sexual reproduction. During cellular division, the cell goes through a series of steps including replication of DNA, segregation of chromosomes, and cytokinesis to ensure the accurate distribution of genetic material to the newly formed cells.
