Caldera

A caldera is a large volcanic crater formed by the collapse of a volcano following an eruption. It is typically circular in shape and may contain a lake or central depression. Calderas are often characterized by steep walls and may be several kilometers in diameter. These features make calderas distinct from other volcanic landforms such as cinder cones or shield volcanoes.
