Woodhens
Woodhens are a group of flightless birds native to the forests of New Zealand. They are known for their distinctive plumage, which features a combination of brown, black, and white feathers. Woodhens have strong legs and feet, which they use for scratching in the forest leaf litter in search of insects and other invertebrates. These birds are an important part of the forest ecosystem, playing a key role in seed dispersal and nutrient cycling.
