Supernova Formation
Supernova formation refers to the process by which a massive star reaches the end of its life cycle and undergoes a catastrophic explosion, releasing an immense amount of energy and radiation into space. This event occurs when the star has exhausted its nuclear fuel and can no longer support itself against gravitational collapse. The resulting explosion can outshine an entire galaxy for a brief period of time and leave behind a remnant such as a neutron star or black hole. Supernova formation plays a crucial role in the dispersal of heavy elements throughout the universe and contributes to the process of stellar evolution.
