Supergiant Stars
Supergiant stars are massive, luminous stars that have expanded to sizes hundreds to thousands of times larger than the sun. They are among the largest stars in the universe and are often found in the later stages of their stellar evolution. Supergiant stars emit a tremendous amount of energy, making them incredibly bright and visible from great distances. These stars have relatively short lifespans compared to smaller stars, as they burn through their fuel at a much faster rate. Some supergiant stars eventually collapse and explode in a massive supernova event, leaving behind dense remnants such as neutron stars or black holes.
