Sumatran Tiger
The Sumatran tiger is a critically endangered subspecies of tiger native to the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It is known for its distinctive dark orange coat with black stripes that are closer together than other tiger subspecies. Sumatran tigers are smaller and more agile than other tiger species, with males typically weighing around 220-310 pounds and females weighing around 165-243 pounds. They are solitary animals that primarily hunt deer, wild boar, and other small mammals in the dense rainforests of Sumatra. Despite conservation efforts, the Sumatran tiger population continues to decline due to habitat loss and poaching.
