Subantarctic

The Subantarctic region refers to the geographical area located just north of the Antarctic Circle, encompassing islands and territories with a climate and ecosystem similar to but slightly milder than that of Antarctica. Characterized by cold temperatures, strong winds, and unique flora and fauna adapted to the harsh conditions, the Subantarctic is home to a diverse array of wildlife such as penguins, seals, and albatrosses. The region is also known for its rugged landscapes, including towering cliffs, glaciers, and remote, uninhabited islands.
