Strongyloidosis

Strongyloidosis is a parasitic infection caused by the nematode Strongyloides stercoralis. The parasite typically enters the body through the skin, migrates to the lungs, and eventually settles in the small intestine. Symptoms of strongyloidosis can range from mild skin irritation to severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, and weight loss. In some cases, the infection can become chronic and lead to potentially life-threatening complications. Treatment usually involves anti-parasitic medications to eliminate the parasite from the body.
