Strong Safeties are defensive players in American football who typically line up in the secondary, closer to the line of scrimmage than free safeties. They are known for their physicality, tackling ability, and skill in defending against the run. Strong safeties are often relied upon to provide run support and help cover tight ends and slot receivers in pass coverage. They play a key role in the defense, acting as a versatile player who can make plays both against the run and the pass.
