Steaming Braising
Steaming braising is a cooking technique that involves both steaming and braising methods. Steaming involves cooking food with steam, typically using a steamer basket or a steaming rack over boiling water. Braising involves cooking food slowly in a small amount of liquid, usually in a covered pot or pan. When combined, steaming braising involves first searing the food in a small amount of fat, then adding liquid and steaming the food until it is tender and flavorful. This method results in moist and tender dishes with intense flavors.
