SpeechLanguage Pathology Programs
Speech-language pathology programs are academic programs designed to train students in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. These programs typically include coursework in areas such as phonetics, linguistics, anatomy and physiology of the speech and hearing mechanisms, as well as clinical practicum experiences to develop hands-on skills working with clients. Graduates of speech-language pathology programs often go on to become licensed speech-language pathologists who work in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and private practices.
