Soviet Realism

Soviet Realism is an artistic movement that emerged in the Soviet Union in the early 20th century, characterized by its celebration of socialist ideals and promotion of the Communist Party's agenda. Artists working within this style typically created figurative paintings, sculptures, and propaganda posters that depicted scenes of everyday life in the Soviet Union, glorified industrialization and agricultural successes, and idealized the working class. The style emphasized realism, clarity, and accessibility in order to communicate political messages to a wide audience. Soviet Realism was the dominant artistic style in the Soviet Union from the 1930s until the fall of the Soviet regime in the 1990s.
