Southeastern Tribes
Southeastern Tribes refer to the various Indigenous peoples who historically inhabited the southeastern region of what is now the United States. These tribes have distinct cultures, languages, and traditions that have evolved over thousands of years. Some well-known Southeastern Tribes include the Cherokee, Choctaw, Creek, Chickasaw, and Seminole. These tribes played a significant role in the early history of the United States, interacting with European settlers and other Indigenous groups in complex ways. Today, many Southeastern Tribes continue to preserve their heritage and traditions through cultural practices, ceremonies, and community events.
