Solar Passive Design
Solar passive design refers to the strategic use of building orientation, materials, and landscaping to optimize natural light and heat from the sun in order to reduce the need for artificial heating and cooling. This design approach aims to create comfortable indoor environments while minimizing energy consumption and carbon emissions. Strategies may include maximizing south-facing windows for winter heat gain, using thermal mass to store and release heat, and incorporating shading elements to prevent overheating in the summer.
