Silverfish
Silverfish are small, wingless insects with a tapered, carrot-shaped body and silvery scales that give them a metallic appearance. They are typically found in damp, dark areas such as basements, bathrooms, and kitchens, where they feed on starchy materials like paper, glue, and clothing. Silverfish are known for their quick and erratic movements, darting away when disturbed. Despite their name, silverfish are not fish at all, but rather belong to the order Zygentoma.
