A musical instrument of the woodwind family, typically made of brass and consisting of a conical tube with keys or valves for producing various pitches. The saxophone is known for its expressive and versatile sound, capable of playing a wide range of musical styles from classical to jazz to rock. It is played by blowing air through a mouthpiece and pressing keys to change the pitch and tone of the notes produced. The saxophone comes in a variety of sizes, from the small and high-pitched soprano saxophone to the large and deep-toned bass saxophone.
