Samburu People
The Samburu people are a Nilotic ethnic group inhabiting the Samburu County in Kenya. They are traditionally semi-nomadic pastoralists known for their distinctive clothing and jewelry, including intricate beadwork and bright shukas (blankets). The Samburu maintain a strong cultural identity, with age sets playing a central role in their social structure. They are skilled herders, primarily raising cattle, goats, and camels in the arid landscapes of northern Kenya. Traditional Samburu beliefs and practices are deeply rooted in their spirituality, with rituals and ceremonies playing a significant role in their community life.
