SaberToothed Cats

Saber-toothed cats were a group of prehistoric carnivorous mammals characterized by their long, curved canine teeth. These cats belonged to the subfamily Machairodontinae and were known for their impressive size and strength. Saber-toothed cats lived during the Pleistocene epoch and are now extinct. They were apex predators, hunting large herbivores such as mammoths and bison. Some well-known species of saber-toothed cats include Smilodon, Homotherium, and Megantereon.
