Riverbeds
Riverbeds are the dry, often rocky, and sometimes sandy channels that contain or once contained flowing water. They are typically found at the bottom of a river or stream and may vary in width and depth depending on the volume of water that flows through them. Riverbeds can feature a variety of sediment sizes, from tiny grains of sand to large boulders, and may be subject to erosion and deposition over time. Wildlife often depends on riverbeds for habitat and as a source of water.
