Ribosome

A ribosome is a complex molecular machine found within cells that is responsible for protein synthesis. It is composed of RNA and protein molecules and functions by translating messenger RNA (mRNA) into chains of amino acids that ultimately form proteins. Ribosomes can be found in the cytoplasm of cells as well as on the rough endoplasmic reticulum.
