Repasting
Repasting refers to the process of removing old thermal paste from a computer's central processing unit (CPU) or graphics processing unit (GPU) and replacing it with a fresh layer. This maintenance technique is commonly performed to improve heat transfer between the CPU/GPU and the heatsink, thereby enhancing overall system performance and preventing overheating issues. Repasting is often recommended for computers experiencing high temperatures or thermal throttling during intensive tasks such as gaming or video editing.
