Religion and Disability Studies
The study of the intersection between religious beliefs, practices, and institutions with the experiences, perspectives, and rights of individuals with disabilities. This field examines how different religious traditions and texts address disability, how religious communities include or exclude individuals with disabilities, and how religious beliefs influence attitudes towards disability in society. Scholars in this field explore the ways in which religion can both support and challenge the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities, as well as how individuals with disabilities engage with and navigate religious spaces and communities.
