Refraction
Refraction is the change in direction of a wave, such as light or sound, as it passes from one medium to another of different density. This change in direction occurs because the wave changes speed, causing it to bend either towards or away from the normal line. Refraction is a fundamental principle in optics and plays a crucial role in phenomena such as the bending of light in lenses, the formation of rainbows, and the mirage effect.
