Reef Corals
Reef corals are marine invertebrates that belong to the class Anthozoa. They are colonial organisms that secrete calcium carbonate skeletons, forming the structure of coral reefs. Reef corals come in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, and play a crucial role in the health and biodiversity of coral reef ecosystems. These organisms have a symbiotic relationship with photosynthetic algae called zooxanthellae, which provide energy through photosynthesis and give corals their vibrant colors. Reef corals are found in tropical and subtropical waters around the world, creating some of the most diverse and productive ecosystems on Earth.
